The commute — is it really that fast?

The fastest Thameslink and LNER services to London King's Cross run every 20 minutes at peak, taking 48–75 minutes depending on the service. Cambridge North station serves the Science Park and Cambridge Business Park. Season tickets to London are cheaper than equivalent journeys from many outer London zones.

Driving into central London is impractical due to the ULEZ, congestion charge and traffic. Most Cambridge-to-London commuters go by train — many working two or three days in London and the rest from home.

Schools

Cambridge has some of the best state schools in the country, alongside internationally recognised independent schools (The Perse, The Leys, King's, St Mary's, Stephen Perse). State catchments in Cambridge are strict and postcode-driven — check current admission rules on the Cambridgeshire County Council website before committing to an area.
