This policy explains how Hercules Movers & Storers ("we", "us") handles personal data collected through herculesmovers.co.uk. We are the data controller for this website.

What we collect

• Quote and contact enquiries — your name, email address, telephone number, move addresses and any details you give us about your move.
• Packing materials orders — your name, email address, telephone number, delivery address and order contents. Card details are entered directly with our payment provider and are never stored on our systems.
• Job applications — the details you submit through our careers page.
• Technical data — standard server logs and, if you consent, analytics data about how the site is used.

Why we use it and our lawful basis

• To prepare a quote and answer your enquiry — steps taken at your request before entering a contract.
• To carry out a move or fulfil an order — performance of a contract.
• To keep accounting and tax records — legal obligation.
• To improve the site through optional analytics — your consent.

Who we share it with

We share personal data only with service providers who process it on our behalf, and only as far as needed to provide the service:

• Stripe — payment processing for packing materials orders.
• Resend — sending order confirmation and notification emails.
• Supabase — secure hosting of order records.
• i-mve — the embedded quote request form on our contact page.
• Google — the optional map embed on our contact page, loaded only with your consent.
• Our packing materials supplier — delivery details for despatch of an order you place.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for third-party marketing.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are kept for up to 24 months. Records relating to a completed move or order are kept for six years to meet accounting and insurance requirements. Job applications are kept for 12 months unless you ask us to remove them sooner.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your data, have inaccurate data corrected, have data erased, restrict or object to processing, request portability, and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email contact@herculesmovers.co.uk. We respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
