Four-bedroom Victorian terrace with a narrow staircase, no driveway, a permit-only parking street in Newnham and a delivery address inside the London ULEZ with a 15-minute loading bay window.

OUR APPROACH

On-site survey five days ahead. Two Luton box vans, six-person crew, permit suspension arranged with the council. Full-pack the day before, load 07:00–10:00, direct drive to Islington avoiding congestion charge start, timed unload into the ULEZ-compliant vehicles' allocated bay.

THE RESULT

Move completed in one day, zero damages, family sleeping in beds by 21:00 the same evening.

THE CHALLENGE

Fellow's set on a listed staircase inside a central Cambridge college. No vehicle access past the porter's lodge, hand-carry only for the final 80m, a Bösendorfer upright piano and a collection of 40+ framed prints and paintings.

OUR APPROACH

Coordinated with the porters two weeks ahead. Piano specialist crew with stair-climbing straps and skid board. All artwork custom-wrapped and crated on-site. Trolley-carry across the court with protective floor runners on college matting.

THE RESULT

Full move completed inside the porters' agreed 6-hour window, listed staircase and college floors returned unmarked.

40-desk office relocation, Cambridge Science Park

Client: Cambridge biotech scale-up

THE CHALLENGE

40-desk office needed to be operational Monday 09:00 after a Friday-night decommission and Saturday move. Sensitive lab equipment, 40 monitors, network gear and a server rack all had to travel with chain-of-custody documentation.

OUR APPROACH

Pre-move survey with client IT. Colour-coded labelling on every asset. IT decommission Friday 18:00–22:00, transport Saturday 08:00–14:00, recommission Saturday 15:00–20:00. Weekend crew of 8 with two 3.5-tonne Lutons.

THE RESULT

Client's team walked into a fully set-up office Monday morning. Zero downtime, zero missing assets.

Steinway model B, Trumpington first-floor flat

Client: Private client, Trumpington

THE CHALLENGE

6ft 11in Steinway grand needed to come down a narrow first-floor staircase in a modern Trumpington apartment block, load into a Luton and deliver to a village hall 40 miles away for a rehearsal that afternoon.

OUR APPROACH

Four-person piano crew, skid board, stair straps, and custom quilted covers. Legs and lyre removed and crated separately. Air-ride Luton for the drive.

THE RESULT

Piano delivered and re-assembled at the village hall by 13:30, in tune for the 15:00 rehearsal after 90 minutes of settling.
