Moving From Cambridge to London: Costs, Timings & What to Expect

Cambridge to London is one of our most requested long-distance routes. It's just over an hour on a clear day — but London adds complications that catch first-time movers off guard.

Typical costs

A two-bed flat from Cambridge to Zone 2 usually lands between £900 and £1,400 including packing materials. A four-bed family home runs £1,800–£3,000+. The variables are volume, access at both ends and whether the destination falls inside a ULEZ or low-traffic neighbourhood.

Plan around the M11

  • Avoid 7–10am and 4–7pm on weekdays
  • Saturday mornings are often the smoothest slot
  • Allow extra time around the M25 junction at Waltham Abbey
  • Sunday moves can run into restricted-delivery streets in central London

Parking is the real challenge

Most London boroughs require a parking suspension for a removal lorry. These need to be applied for online a week or more in advance and cost £30–£80 per bay. We handle this for you as part of our long-distance service.

ULEZ and low-emission zones

Our fleet is ULEZ-compliant, so there are no surcharges to pass on to you. If you're hiring a smaller van yourself, check the vehicle's emissions rating before booking — non-compliant vehicles face a £12.50 daily charge.
